Summary:This research gives an account of the design and implementation of a strategy based on factors associated with the comprehensive reading and meaningful learning processes. In addition, in this study, a pedagogical strategy supported by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) was implemented, in which the degree of comprehension that can be reached by the reader according to the Guidelines for the Spanish Language (1998). These factors are: reader's encyclopedia, assumption, inference and self-control, (Arroyave M. et al., 2004), which, together with three stages, before, during and after reading, (Solú I, 1992), supporting the development of the reading process, as main axis to improve reading comprehension levels of third grade students of the Educational Institution Teodoro Aya Villaveces, Sede Camilo Torres, Fusagasugá.
