This program raises the number of teachers with a postgraduate degree; this allows the educational institutes to be divided into two groups: of high and low intensity depending on the number of post graduated teachers. Making use of a data panel from 2005 to 2016 and with the results of the SABER tests in that period, the academic performance can be compared along time.La presente investigación analiza el efecto de estudiar en instituciones educativas (IE) distritales de Bogotá que tienen mayor proporción de docentes con título de posgrado sobre el desempeño académico de los estudiantes. La metodología utilizada es la de diferencias en diferencias, aprovechando la exogeneidad introducida por el programa Maestros empoderados con bienestar y mayor formación implementado entre 2012 y 2016 por la Alcaldía de Bogotá. El programa aumenta el número de maestros con posgrado, lo que permite dividir las IE en dos grupos: intensidad alta y baja según la cantidad de docentes posgraduados. Contando con un panel de datos desde 2005 hasta 2016 y con resultados de las pruebas SABER en dicho período, se puede comparar el desempeño académico a lo largo del tiempo.
