Description
Summary:The present investigation analyzes the effect of studying in district educational institutions from Bogota that have a larger number of teachers with a postgraduate degree, over the studentþs academic performance. The methodology used is the one of differences in differences, taking advantage of the exogeneity introduced by the ·Teachers empowered with wellness and mayor training· program implemented between 2012 and 2016 by the Municipality of Bogota. This program raises the number of teachers with a postgraduate degree; this allows the educational institutes to be divided into two groups: of high and low intensity depending on the number of post graduated teachers. Making use of a data panel from 2005 to 2016 and with the results of the SABER tests in that period, the academic performance can be compared along time.
