Results hold when we run a logistic regression controlling for other variables among them, the Heritage Foundation Indexes, and a same-language dummy.En este trabajo se estudia si la "distancia cultural" entre dos firmas determina el modo de entrada en una organización extranjera. Estudiamos dos modos de entrada: acuerdos cooperativos y adquisiciones. Analizamos una base de datos de 1.292 acuerdos cooperativos y adquisidores en diez países latinoamericanos entre 1998 y 2004. La evidencia es consistente con la elección de acuerdos cooperativos a medida que la distancia cultural es mayor. En particular, usamos como proxy de la distancia cultural dos dimensiones: individualismo-colectivismo y masculinidad-femineidad. Los resultados se mantienen cuando corremos regresiones logísticas y controlamos por variables como el Heritage Foundation Index y una dummy por igualdad de lengua.Introduction. 1.
