One of the factors that allows to detect the location of population in educational vulnerability state of is the identification of relations between the households’ socio cultural characteristics and the students’ academic performance. From the analysis of this fact, the review and clarification of the concepts involved in it, using the data obtained by a Geographic Information System (GIS), this paper intends to show how educational vulnerability manifests in kids and teenagers in the General Pueyrredón district, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The methodology for the analysis is quantitative, since it is supported in a comparison of the Index of Socio-cultural Conditioning and the Index of Educational Performance (both in Z score). This work intends to evidence the spatial relations existing between social and cultural variables that configure the educational vulnerability map for the studied zone, which constitutes a highly relevant social topic. |

A partir do exame deste fato, da revisão e do esclarecimento dos conceitos nele envolvidos, e à luz dos dados obtidos por um Sistema de Informação Geográfica (SIG), este texto propõe-se a estudar o modo em que a vulnerabilidade educativa manifesta-se nas crianças e nos adolescentes em General Pueyrredón, província de Buenos Aires, Argentina. A metodologia de análise utilizada é de caráter eminentemente quantitativo, pois apóia-se em uma comparação do Índice de Condicionamento Sócio-cultural e o Índice de Rendimentos Educativos (ambos em pontuação Z). Espera-se fazer evidente, as relações espaciais existentes entre variáveis sociais e culturais que configuram o mapa da vulnerabilidade educativa para a zona de estudo, o que constitui um tema de ampla relevância social.Uno de los factores que permite detectar la localización de población en situación de vulnerabilidad educativa es la identificación de las relaciones entre las características socioculturales de los hogares y los rendimientos académicos de los escolares. A partir del examen de este hecho, de la revisión y clarificación de los conceptos en él implicados, y a la luz de los datos obtenidos por un Sistema de Información Geográfica (SIG), se estudia el modo en que la vulnerabilidad educativa se manifiesta en los niños y adolescentes en el partido de General Pueyrredón, provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. La metodología de análisis es de carácter cuantitativo, pues se apoya en una comparación del Índice de Condicionamiento Sociocultural y el Índice de Rendimientos Educativos (ambos en puntaje Z).
