Summary: | This final report of inquiry is framed in the cognitive semiotic theory developed by Duval (1993, 1998, 1999, 2004, 2005.), with the idea of identifying and determining the forms of visual apprehension that students mobilize when facing a sequence didactics that contain tasks based on the coordination of various semiotic registers in the work with areas of shaded regions and the typification of the geometric relationships that emerge through area comparisons of two-dimensional figures, based on explicitly geometric mereological treatments. Due to the problems that arise when facing problem situations in which visualization prevails as a cognitive activity, it is necessary to strengthen fundamental processes of geometric reasoning such as the dimensional deconstruction of shapes, which bring students closer to the development of type apprehensions perceptual and operative in the development of didactic situations related to the content of the area of shaded regions, mediated by the coordination between the figural representation registers and that of the natural language. The present investigation was developed under the didactic engineering methodology from which some elements were taken and a didactic sequence emerged that was applied to the 9-2 grade students of the San José Educational Institution, located in the Municipality of La Victoria. This investigation is framed in a qualitative approach, in which the description and analysis of the procedures, difficulties and advances in the geometric thinking of the students were sought |
