In designing systems lightning protection efficiency with any structure of end use is screened can be assessed by any electrogeometric method depending on the type of building
in order to protect the structure against physical damage and safeguard the lives of people. The main objective of this work was the development of a software tool for the design of shielding structures end-use less than 55 meters in height
using the method of the rolling sphere
described under the guidelines of the Colombian technical standard NTC 4552. This paper presents a software screening in which (3D) three-dimensional structures are analyzed on the basis of the rolling sphere method and was developed in the Matlab program was developed. The software indicates the result of a 3D image (made by the user) of the protected structure which can be evidenced vulnerable parts of the building with probability of lightning strike and turn the course of the centers of the spheres is displayed by whole structure. Which means
with the development of this software has the solution to systems external lightning protection by applying a electrogeometric 3D model
using the correct distribution termination rods for different structures
in order to ensure the full protection of the entire building. and finally a basic guide for the use of screening software to end-use structures was developed.
