This research has made a kinetic study of the generation of methane in the anaerobic digestion of chicken manure (CM) using the kinetic models: first order
Chen and Hashimoto
modified Gompertz and Logistic in mesophilic and psychrophilic intervals of temperature
using laboratory-scale batch reactor and operated at 10

37 and 39 ° C. The chicken manure used in this experiment were subjected to characterization studies and during experimentation variables as: VS
TS
VFA
COD
TRS
pH and TA were monitored before and after digestion. The specific kinetic parameters of each model were estimated in each case. The effect of temperature on methane production was experimentally evaluated and compared with the results of the kinetic study. The results showed that achieved maximum cumulative methane yield and better biodegradation efficiency were obtained with the bioreactor operated at 39 ° C. The modified Gompertz model and the logistic model are best for predicting the production of methane to mesophilic and psychrophilic temperatures
respectively. Additionally the kinetics of anaerobic biodegradation of chicken cage manure
based on the models were simulated: modified Gompertz and logistic. Three empirical based on the model of Chen and Hashimoto; which can be an important tool for the design and construction of bio-digesters
given the variability of temperatures that presenting in Colombia
