The market for oil and gas industry
has a variable and unpredictable behavior; it is influenced by political sectors worldwide and implies constant challenges for the companies involved. The aim of this document is to set out a proposed business model for the company PROCORR
a Colombian company specialized engineering services through the implementation of strategic planning methodologies
business-oriented medium-term sustainability. An assessment of the financial and strategic status of the company in the last three years was conducted; the results show failures in the management of resources that impede obtaining profitability in the provision of services as their main value proposition
including: design
construction
inspection and maintenance of cathodic protection systems against corrosion phenomena. The identification of strategic units and value chain analysis as a strategic capability allowed the definition of competitive advantages in terms of price and targeting of the company to the pursuit of business goals
considering the organizational structure and management of human talent. As a result of this study an action plan for the implementation of the strategic alternatives was developed and prioritization was done by defining the order of implementation of these. At the end of this document
some emerging research areas for the future were identified.

description El mercado de la industria de hidrocarburos, presenta un comportamiento variable e impredecible; es influenciado por sectores políticos a nivel mundial y plantea desafíos permanentes para las compañías inmersas. El documento expone la propuesta de modelo de negocio para la empresa PROCORR, una compañía colombiana prestadora de servicios especializados de ingeniería, mediante la implementación de metodologías de planeación estratégica, orientado a la sostenibilidad empresarial a mediano plazo. Se realizó un diagnóstico del estado financiero y estratégico de la compañía en los últimos 3 años; los resultados evidencian fallas en la administración de los recursos que impiden obtener la rentabilidad en la prestación de servicios como su principal propuesta de valor, entre ellos: el diseño, la construcción, la inspección y el mantenimiento de sistemas de protección catódica contra fenómenos de la corrosión. La identificación de unidades estratégicas y el análisis sobre la cadena de valor como capacidad estratégica permitieron la definición de ventaja competitiva en función del precio y el direccionamiento de la compañía hacia la persecución de metas empresariales, considerando la estructura organizacional y la gestión del talento humano. Como resultado de este estudio se desarrolló un plan de acción para la implementación de las alternativas estratégicas y se realizó una priorización definiendo el orden de implementación de estas. Al finalizar se plantean las áreas de investigación, que podrían complementar el modelo de negocio planteado.
