This study aims at elaborating an economic and technical analysis for reducing production costs through the installation of a depropanizer tower at the company GAS DE SANTANDER S.A. E.S.P. Firstly
it was conducted a conceptual study on fractionation of liquids
distillation process description
process abnormalities
and control systems related to this type of towers. Those are the aspects which this paper is based on. Next step was the making of the operational principles description
design features
operational issues
and the simulation of the results obtained through specialized software for the verification of all the utilized parameters in the design of the fractionation tower. After carrying out the analysis of all the variables involved in the design in question
construction and operation of a depropanizer tower
it was identified the environmental impact that avoid meaningful affections to the environment. Finally
an economic analysis was conducted in order to assess the project viability
where the initial investment
maintenance and production costs
profitability assessment
and the investment recovery time are all related. All of the above is done with the purpose of having this paper work as a competitiveness tool in the market for the company where I am handling this current dissertation.
