The Mechanical Engineering School of the Universidad Industrial de Santander
in search of an improvement cycle meant to maintain high-qualification standards of its graduate students
is offering an extension of its undergraduate program scope
which will include subjects focused on improving aligning the career profile of the Mechanical Engineer to the demands of the industry that is currently looking for professionals capable of working as coordinators of integrity and operational reliability of assets; the elective subject called "Integrity and Reliability Operational Equipment was created". This project targets to the creation of an elective subject that captures the attention of students interested in acquiring or increasing knowledge regarding integrity and operational reliability of equipment
for their career development or personal growth. In this subject will be discussed different topics ranging from the analysis of failures
to the integrity-assessment methodologies for taking corrective actions be offered as an elective subject in the Mechanical Engineering undergraduate curriculum with an academic load of 3 credits and a classroom hourly intensity of 4 hours per week in a regular semester
