This monograph encompasses the multimodal transport in Colombia

which are present along the riverbank. This project is an important opportunity to increase the economy in Colombia

specially for companies that extract oil and export their own product though the caribbean coast. Additionally
companies that import supplies will benefit since their products would be imported through the river and it would diminish risk of loss. It is known that oil industry is facing an economic crisis

description La presente monografía engloba el entorno del transporte multimodal en Colombia, citando la historia del mismo y la dependencia del río Magdalena para este fin. En la actualidad el transporte multimodal es una prioridad para el desarrollo económico del país, pues la competitividad logística se ve resumida en bajos costos y prontos tiempos de entrega. En Colombia un grupo de empresas se han unido para financiar parte de las obras que implican la recuperación de este afluente, invirtiendo en calado, cause y recuperación de la infraestructura portuaria que se presenta a lo largo de la ribera del río. Este proyecto es una oportunidad importante para el crecimiento económico de Colombia, porque facilitará la reducción de costos de transporte principalmente para las compañías extractoras de petróleo que exportan su producto utilizando los puertos de la costa caribe, adicionalmente las compañías importadoras de insumos también se verán beneficiadas porque sus compras ingresaran al interior del país utilizando el rio y así disminuirán sus riesgos de perdida. Es ahora, en medio de la crisis económica que afronta la industria petrolera que se deben fortalecer y promover los proyectos que generen ingresos para el país, lo hagan productivo y llamativo a la inversión extranjera.
