This degree project is developed as Business Practice in the company FRIMAC S.A that is dedicated to providing logistical transport for dry cargo
refrigerated
frozen and bulk. The project focuses on strengthening and optimizing operation processes of urban freight distribution in order to generate competitive advantages that allows the company to provide timely response to customer demand and reducing costs through the implementation of proposals for improvement based on engineering tools
offering solutions aimed at reducing administrative and operational time of activities such as planning routes and scheduling
loading and delivery times
traceability control in performing operation
among others. In relation to transport strategies
an appropriate approach in the size and consolidation of the shipment
the mode of transport
the allocation of routes and the scheduling of transporters; It represents a great competitive advantage for a company. First
is performed a diagnosis that includes an overview of the company and a detailed description of the problems encountered in operational processes. Subsequently
proposals for improving these processes are formulated
