Asociación
In the locality Lavadero of Málaga town
exist the municipal association of rural women "Futuro y vida" and community shop
in order to boost agricultural activity. The purpose of this study was to identify the socioeconomic and agricultural characteristics of the members of the association and community shop
besides
assess and identify the egg production system more in line with the community. A survey asking about family
socio-economic
educational and agricultural aspects was applied. The results show that members barely manage to cover their basic needs
and there are few agricultural production systems that provide economic stability. For 13 weeks three management systems with Hy Line Brown® laying hens
handling confinement (MC)
handling supplement (MS) and grazing management (MP) were evaluated; the animals were fed with commercial concentrate
birds of MS and MP received alfalfa
MP was managed under a rotational grazing system. The feed system does not significantly affect egg production
but influences the achievement of a product with greater demand and price in the market. It is concluded that traditional agricultural systems managed with business vision can represent an alternative to diversify and use of available resources available there on the sidewalk giving benefit to the whole community
