This working paper develops a study of operation and maintenance for produced water treatment plant
operating with reverse osmosis process
the study is aimed to know how is the net cost of producing a water barrel in the conditions set out in the contract. The work begins with a review of what was the project and continues with a brief description about oil field where the plant was built
makes an introduction on produced water concept
review water parameters from water to be treated and review parameters from effluent water
this according to environmental regulations. Also mentions the processing units and its role in the plant. A description of fixed costs that are associated with the operation and maintenance of the plant is presented
such as: payroll
general service contracts and consumables. Following presents the variable costs
such as: energy
chemicals for operation and spare parts. Finally an economic analysis of the operation and maintenance for a year of operation is done and the barrel cost is calculated by analyzing two possible scenarios that can occur during operation of the plant
an optimal scenario and a scenario to treat water out of specifications.
