The factors that affect insecticidal formulations obtained from neem leaves extracts were studied by stability studies in the present paper. Samples with different pH values (3
6
9)
preservative percentage (%C) (0%
0
15% and 0
3% v/v) and water percentage (%A) (80%
87
5%
95% v/v) were prepared following a Box-Behnken experimental design. The samples were incubated for 20 days at 40°C
to accelerate degradation. The amount of azadirachtin (AZA) for determinate the percentage of degradation (%DAZA) respect the original content was quantified with HPLC. The same way
the biomass that was generated in the sample (PB) were weighed and characterized by microbiological analysis. The sample that showed more degradation (higher PB) was at pH 9
0
3% C and 87
5% A
showing that only bacillus type bacteria were developed. The models that adjust to the data were obtained using the methodology of response surface
so that a prediction of the best storage conditions were possible. It was found that the stability of neem leaf extracts is affected by the same parameters and the same conditions as the seed extracts
and an insecticidal formulation for pH 3
0.2% C and 94% A
minimize the PB and the %DAZA.
