The department of hospital maintenance of a service institution of Health
has the important task of ensuring that both the provision (consisting of biomedical
industrial equipment for hospital use
furniture administrative and welfare use
equipment and communications networks) as infrastructure are in optimal conditions for the provision of services; this is achieved from a management model that structures the maintenance department as a functional unit and define the functions to be executed in the maintenance plans
staff profiles and indicators of performance measurement. The need for such management tools to support the management of hospital maintenance leads to contemplate a computerized information system as an important source of information and support for effective decision making by all levels of the organization. That is why this paper focuses on the conceptual design of a computerized information system that allows the management of hospital maintenance and contribute to the fulfillment of standards licensing and accreditation of a lending institution Health Services of high complexity. 3
