Bovine manure produced in livestock activity is the largest renewable waste produced in agro-ecosystems. Stabilization of organic matter present in the bovine manure and energy recovery of this has been achieved by anaerobic digestion. In the development of this research a rural reactor or low-cost digester for anaerobic digestion (AD) of bovine manure was implemented. Which it was designed
built and installed for the production of biogas and obtaining a digested used as fertilizer. Prior to implementation of the digester a physic-chemical characterization and calculation of theoretical and experimental biomethanisation potential of tributary to use during the process were performed. Then during operation of the biodigester consumption of total reducing sugars (TRS) were monitored
conversion of organic matter in terms of chemical demand of soluble oxygen (COD's) and volatile solids (VS)
the concentration of volatile fatty acids (VFA )
the stability of the process (PH-AT) and biogas production. For anaerobic digestion of manure diluted with water in 1: 3 ratio was obtained that biogas production was 0.9 m3/day and energy recovery of manure produced a % of energy savings of 76% and cost savings of $ 40
300 / month.
