Con la identificación de los alcances en una parada de planta debe abarcar todos los aspectos del trabajo planificado, para un manejo eficaz y eficiente de la parada de planta procederemos a elaborar las listas de trabajos los cuales nos garantizaran un proceso exitoso y una ejecución exitosa, las cuales resultan cruciales para garantizar la disponibilidad de activos, equipos e instalaciones y asegurar el funcionamiento continuo y confiable de las operaciones, de este modo se puede evitar la disminución o retrasos en su actividad productiva de manera que se pueda satisfacer la demanda para ello, generalmente la industria de hidrocarburos (Petroquímica, Refinería y Gas) realiza un plan de confiabilidad integrada de activos que es una combinación de mantenimiento operacional, correctivo, preventivo, predictivo y proactivo, sin embargo, existen otros tipos de trabajos de mantenimiento y reemplazo que por sus características no pueden ser realizados durante el periodo normal de operación estos se planifican generalmente con entre 18 y 36 meses de antelación con respecto a la fecha de inicio, su duración oscila entre 15 y 30 días dependiendo del alcance y del tipo de planta.
