Summary: | The objective of this research was to describe the relationship between the Coping strategies in operational employees of CB Hotel Gourmet S.A.S. and the dimensions of burnout. To achieve the objective it was used a quantitative methodology with a correlational scope approach based on a non-experimental cross-sectional design, with 40 subjects (42,5 % Women and 57,5 % Men) with operational employees of hostelry industry (receptionists, bellboys, housekeepers, waiters). Whom completed the questionnaires Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) (α=0.72) and Coping Strategies Scale-Modified Version (EEC-M) (α=0.84). The findings show High levels (57,5 %) and Low levels (17,5 %) of Professional Effectiveness; About Emotional Exhaustion, High levels (32,5 %) and (20,9 %) Low and Very Low levels; and finally about cynicism, High levels (12,5 %) and (32,5 %) Low and Very Low levels. The Coping Strategy Positive Revaluation prevails in 62,5 % of subjects (70th-100th percentile). Negative meaningful relationships are evident (p < 0.005) between cynicism dimension of burnout and the Coping Strategies: BAP (rS = -0.331 y p= 0.037) y RP (rS = -0.364 y p= 0.021), As well as positive meaningful relationships (p < 0.005) between Emotional Exhaustion dimension of burnout and the coping strategies: RA (rS = 0.340; p= 0.032) y EDA (rS = 0.322 y p= 0.042). Only two subjects suggests the presence of burnout. |
