description Introduction: The present study, which deals with teaching strategies as a motivational tool, discusses the impact of gamification and interest in the contents of Physical Education, in the educational curriculum and its impact on the motor development of the learning subjects and the affective area. The research question is: How does gamification in Physical Education influence motivation in the academic process of students in the Dominican Republic? The main purpose was to analyze gamification in the Physical Education class as a didactic strategy for academic motivation in the Dominican Republic. Methodology: As support, it was based on the desk research methodology, which consists of the study and analysis of educational methods and practices that are used in each of the educational levels, with preeminence in the secondary level. In this sense, an organized and systematized review of studies that address the motivational issue in educational institutions and its impact on contemporary pedagogy was conducted. The databases consulted were: Scopus, SciELO and Google Scholar, a total of 20 references. Results and discussion: The results show that the gamification of Physical Education at the Secondary Level of Dominican education is important to motivate their study and learning in a significant way, which substantially improves academic performance in their integral formation. Conclusions: In conclusion, theories, documents and authors consider it as a primary factor in the motivation of students and in the case of Physical Education.

La pregunta de investigación es la siguiente: ¿cómo influye la gamificación en Educación Física en la motivación en el proceso académico de estudiantes de la República Dominicana? El propósito principal consistió en analizar la gamificación en la clase de Educación Física como estrategia didáctica de motivación académica en la República Dominicana. Metodología: como soporte, se basó en la metodología desk research, la cual consiste en el estudio y análisis de métodos y prácticas educativas que se emplean en cada uno de los niveles educativos, con preeminencia en el secundario. En este sentido, se realizó una revisión organizada y sistematizada de estudios que abordan el tema motivacional en las instituciones educativas y su impacto en la pedagogía contemporánea. Las bases de datos consultadas fueron Scopus, SciELO y Google Académico; en total, 20 referencias. Resultados y discusión: entre los resultados se tiene que la gamificación de la Educación Física en el nivel secundario de la educación dominicana es importante para motivar su estudio y aprendizaje de forma significativa, lo que mejora sustancialmente el rendimiento académico en su formación integral. Conclusiones: como conclusión, las teorías, los documentos y los autores la consideran un factor primordial en la motivación de los estudiantes y en el caso de la Educación Física.Actualmente, os processos de ensino tentam envolver estratégias que incentivem os estudantes a participar de forma eficaz. No presente trabalho, que trata da Gamificação na Educação Física como estratégia motivacional ao nível secundário na República Dominicana, é discutido o papel desta área de formação contínua no currículo educacional e o seu impacto no desenvolvimento motor das disciplinas de aprendizagem. O principal objectivo era caracterizar, de acordo com as posições teóricas e os autores consultados, a estratégia que dinamiza os processos educativos na área da Educação Física. Como apoio, baseou-se na metodologia Desk Research (González, et al., 2018), que consiste no estudo e análise de métodos e práticas educacionais que são utilizados em cada um dos níveis de ensino, com preeminência no ensino secundário. Neste sentido, foi realizada uma revisão organizada e sistematizada de estudos que abordam a questão motivacional nas instituições educativas e o seu impacto na pedagogia contemporânea. Os resultados mostram que a gamificação da Educação Física no Ensino Secundário Dominicano, mostra as várias fontes consultadas e discutidas sobre a importância da motivação neste importante assunto.
