Description
Summary:This is a quantitative research, descriptive-correlational in scope. The objective was to describe the correspondence between attentional capacities, sensory memory and reading comprehension in a sample of third grade students from a school in Cartagena. To achieve this objective, the children's neuropsychological evaluation test (ENI), Filho's ABC test, the progressive figures test and the "A" test were used. Finally, by means of simple random sampling, a sample of 50 children was constituted, where the age range ranged from 7 to 11 years old. Regarding the results, it was evidenced that most of the sample presents difficulty to present an activity during a period of time while they execute it and to be attentive when processing and interpreting the information of the environment, on the other hand, it is easier for them to progressively relate those events in the thread of time presenting a sufficient capacity to understand and retain minimal visual information, they can also decode the information to understand it textually, finally, it was possible to observe the closeness between the variables attention, tracing and reading comprehension, which indicates a pattern of association.
