Description
Summary:Narrative inquiry is inevitably involved in the disputes regarding the very meaning of what investigating is, and what can and must be expected from this enterprise. Even if the epistemological legitimacy and their devoted use of educational research have been rising proportionally, its methodological validity still generates controversy, not only in regard to technical issues but rather, and more importantly, related to political stances as to the nature of reality, the place of subjects in ongoing human experience and the power of scientific practice in the game of building sense. This paper addresses the analysis of the state of the matter in the immediate geographical context and the larger geopolitical extent, and poses the questions regarding the political consequences of narrative inquiry. In addition, some narrative fragments by university professors from the State University in Mar del Plata, Argentina, are shared, in order to illustrate the political potential of these types of inquiries.
