Facultad de Ciencias Humanas, Sociales y de la Educación, Pereira, 2009El objetivo de este artículo es dar cuenta de las diferentes características del lenguaje oral y escrito, y cómo este último influye en el funcionamiento cognitivo del sujeto. Para el cumplimiento de tal objetivo, se presentan las condiciones de la oralidad, la escritura, se establecen semejanzas y diferencias entre ellas. Igualmente, se retoman autores como Olson (1994 y 1998), Ong (1994 y 1995), y Cassany (1997 y 1999), entre otros. Cassany identifica como funcionamientos propios de la escritura la descontextualización, la interacción diferida, la cosificación y la bidireccionalidad que impactan al sujeto y transforman su nivel cognitivo. Finalmente, es necesario reconocer el papel que ha desempeñado el lenguaje escrito, puesto que ha posibilitado liberar la mente de los seres humanos, abrir sus horizontes frente a la identificación de nuevos intereses, de temáticas que conllevan a la reflexión y a la infinitud del conocimiento. /Abstract: The objective of this article is to realize the different characteristics of oral and written language, how the written language influences the subject's cognitive functioning. To fulfill this objective, it presents the conditions of orality and writing,similarities and differences are established between them. Authors such as Olson (1994 and 1998), Ong (1994, 1995), are taken a account; Cassany (1997 and 1999) highlights among others, who proposed some characteristics of writing; "de-contextualization, deferred interaction, reification and bidirectionality”, bearing present that these are considered as functions that impact the subject and transform their cognitive level. It is concluded, we must recognize the role that the written language has played, it has made possible to free the mind of human beings, to open their horizons compared to the identification of new interests, topics that lead to reflection and the infinity of knowledge.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
