El estudio busca identificar la relación entre los aspectos cognitivos y afectivos y las competencias que promueve el currículo de la institución desde su abordaje pedagógico constructivista en el proceso de enseñanza- aprendizaje; la investigación fue de tipo Mixto, con diseño explicativo secuencial, en el que en su componente cuantitativo buscó analizar la empatía de los docentes de inglés por medio de la aplicación del Test de empatía cognitiva y afectiva TECA, el cual define una medida global de empatía, e igualmente se analizaron los resultados de las pruebas diagnósticas de inglés de los estudiantes; desde el componente cualitativo logró comprender la relación entre la percepción de la empatía por parte de los docentes en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje. La hipótesis que se tuvo inicialmente fue que, a mayor empatía por parte del docente, mayor el aprendizaje del inglés por parte de sus estudiantes. Abstract: This research discloses the incidence of empathy of English teachers at the Alfonso Jaramillo Gutiérrez Educational Institution in the results of their students' English diagnostic test during 2019 and 2020.
