Para lograr este propósito, se recurrió a una metodología con enfoque cualitativo dada su naturaleza holística/humanista, y a su intencionalidad centrada en la comprensión de la realidad, el método propuesto es analítico y de tipo evaluativo ya que estudia las componentes principales del objetivo general. Lo anterior, permite realizar una aproximación bibliográfica de las corrientes de la EA; posteriormente, se identifican los elementos socio-ambientales característicos del entorno de cada institución, con el fin de comprender las problemáticas ambientales locales, y finalmente se establecen las relaciones con cada proyecto ambiental escolar PRAE. En cuanto a los resultados, se concluye que los PRAE de las instituciones educativas no son pertinentes frente a las dinámicas socioambientales propias del territorio y además se encuentran enmarcados en las corrientes de Educación Ambiental conservacionista y resolutiva, las cuales limitan el concepto y la práctica de la EA./ Abstract: The purpose of this article is to evaluate the relevance of the PRAE of the rural Educational Institutions of the municipality of Ansermanuevo-Valle del Cauca, against the Currents of Environmental Education and the environmental problems of their surroundings. To achieve this purpose, a methodology with a qualitative approach was used given its holistic / humanistic nature, and its intentionality focused on the understanding of reality, the proposed method is analytical and evaluative as it studies the main components of the general objective. The above allows a bibliographic approximation of the currents of AD; subsequently, the characteristic socio-environmental elements of the environment of each institution are identified, in order to understand local environmental problems, and finally the relationships with each PRAE school environmental project are established. Regarding the results, it is concluded that the PRAE of educational institutions are not relevant to the socio-environmental dynamics of the territory and are also framed in the currents of conservationist and decisive Environmental Education, which limit the concept and practice of the EA.Universidad Católica de Pereira.
