This study was carried out in a second semester group. Fifteen students participated in the research, they were observed in their different classes during one month and their opinions about the topic were heard in a focus group. This research is considered as an ethnographic research specifically a case study because of its qualitative nature. The data were collected through observations, interviews and a focus group. The findings of the study indicated that the causes of phonological fossilization are: the absence of correction and feedback what leads to the lack of awareness by students of the difficulties they have regarding pronunciation, the differences between English and Spanish regarding phonetics, the non- inclusion of a phonetics course in lower semesters, dearth of proficiency level of the professors, the use of non-authentic materials, and the omission of an approach to teach pronunciation.PregradoOtroapplication/pdfengDerechos Reservados - Universidad del Quindiohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessAtribución 4.0 Internacional (CC BY 4.0)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cbphonological fossilization, research, observation, interview, focus group, pronunciation, correction, feedback, phonetics, proficiency level, authentic materialsPhonological Fossilization in Second Semester Modern Languages Students at the University of QuindíoTrabajo de grado - Pregradohttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1finfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionTexthttps://purl.org/redcol/resource_type/TPhttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85Universidad del Quindío, Programa de Licenciatura en Lenguas ModernasPublicationTHUMBNAILPhonological Fossilization in Second Semester.pdf.jpgPhonological Fossilization in Second Semester.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg5948https://bdigital.uniquindio.edu.co/bitstreams/45078004-0262-4ad1-9657-24a28d4bd0dc/download01d63719a0613899d34e716a7969c714MD54TEXTPhonological Fossilization in Second Semester.pdf.txtPhonological Fossilization in Second Semester.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain108728https://bdigital.uniquindio.edu.co/bitstreams/dfc9b2c1-9076-4961-95fb-3daf904f915e/downloadc3c8cd247ecc029e59689ac8e8b65da0MD53LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-81748https://bdigital.uniquindio.edu.co/bitstreams/c2fc6c6f-1557-4879-b13c-116ad69e87e3/download8a4605be74aa9ea9d79846c1fba20a33MD52ORIGINALPhonological Fossilization in Second Semester.pdfPhonological Fossilization in Second Semester.pdfapplication/pdf1151086https://bdigital.uniquindio.edu.co/bitstreams/7edb17f8-6d82-4f32-8c32-3617167ac1ee/download783445171bdc31f495e3c101b2e06b18MD51001/193oai:bdigital.uniquindio.edu.co:001/1932024-06-07 10:46:49.676https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Derechos Reservados - Universidad del Quindiorestrictedhttps://bdigital.uniquindio.edu.coBiblioteca Digital Universidad del Quindíobdigital@metabiblioteca.com |
