Summary: | Using the benefits of qualitative research, we present below the characteristics of gourmet coffee consumers in the municipality of Rionegro Antioquia; a population that, thanks to its 40% foreign component, has been experiencing changes in their tastes and demands. For this, the methodological moments were the revision of literature, the logical design, the design, application and analysis of two questionnaires - for owners of coffee shops and unsuspecting inhabitants of the city. Once the field work was carried out and the information from the primary source was analyzed, the socializing element of coffee was confirmed; the biggest consumers were the population over 35 years old, from the third and fourth strata, with the female sex as the most assiduous, although not by much -59%-; coffee consumers in the municipality prefer to enjoy it in the morning and at night, choosing quality over price and aroma over taste and appearance. As for consumption, 47% of the analyzed niche, usually take a cup a day, being the cappuccino the most requested type of gourmet coffee. |
