Summary:The present article shows the results of a research whose purpose was to promote the use of literary tale as innovative pedagogic strategy in the four cycles of basic education, through a preocess of collective construction involving 25 teachers, school directives and the counsellor. The research was developed at Colegio Distrital San Isisdro Sur Oriental, this school belongs to San Cristobal locality in Bogotá, Colombia. The project developed whit a qualitative focus and it used the participative-action research method, the techniques applied were self managend by questionnaires and two workshops. Based on the information btined it was concluded that most of the teachers recofnize the relevance of reading short stories in the classroom, applying different activities of shared reading before, during and after reading, The paper reports findings that give new elements to the curricular discussion of taching and learing based on cycles
