Description
Summary:What we call infancy and infants is not something given nor is it waiting for us to be described and deciphered; they are versions of versions, in an ad innitum progression. All of them certainly have a material correspondence in and with the world. That is why such questions will always involve endless and heated debates in processes that seek to establish that or that concept as the best, the most correct, or the most up-to-date. Likewise, such questions end up establishing a very broad and specific discursive field about childhood and infants, which is described in this book. The notion of discursive field is used as a methodological tool that allows grouping, under the same lens, different discourses regarding childhood; as well as, to recognize the plurality and historicity of what is thought and said about it as an object of knowledge and power.
