Description
Summary:This paper focuses on the history of education in two Latin American countries, Argentina and Colombia, aiming to decipher how, from their very origins as nations, the intention to strengthen nationality and citizenship was used to exclude, erase or subordinate the integration of populations and cultures that were not considered part of the nation. It also points out the limitations to the analysis from the history of education in Latin America to account for and sufficiently problematize the racist and exclusionary correlative with indigenous people and the black and African descendant communities. Finally, the paper offers a reading on the lines of research and contributions of different authors to analyze this problem based on the textbooks.
