Summary: | Women Teachers Project is a tribute to teachers from the perspective of Arts-Based Educational Research. It’s a personal narrative as a professor in the university, after thirty years of experience. The project evolved an artistic action, a work in progress since 2005. The main objective is to analyze the identities of teachers by making exhibitions in museums, incorporating three perspectives: the works of the author, the students’ drawings, and the interviews with teachers in video. Among the secondary objectives we highlight the need to integrate the arts in the school as a powerful tool, the development of a critical spirit, and the promotion of creativity. Artistic research allows us to discover facets that other models do not attend to. Methodologically, is necessary the knowledge of the environment in which teachers are working. The findings enlighten us regarding issues such as visibility (and invisibility) of the teaching community, and the image that represents teachers in our society. With this tribute, the work and respect that the teachers deserve is vindicated, thus making visibility of teaching professionals. |
