Summary: | This research intends to describe the relation between the use of some cognitive processes (analysis, synthesis and inference) and reading comprehension in English taking into account the level of linguistic competnce. A brief description is given about the concept of cognitive processes, tex structures involved in reading comprehension and some components of linguistic competenc. Based on data collection and data analysis, it was concluded that the higher the level of linguistic competence, the better the level of reading comprehension and the better the use of cognitive processes as well. |
