The results allow to find progress in half of the children in secondary decoding evidencing faults in the extraction of sentences contained in the sentences; the other half have advanced to tertiary coding level.El presente estudio de corte cualitativo se realizó durante los años 2015 y 2016 en las sedes Granada Occidente y San Antonio Bajo de la Institución Educativa Técnica Agropecuaria San Rafael en el municipio de Rondón-Boyacá; tiene como propósito determinar los procesos de comprensión lectora que se ven fortalecidos a partir de la implementación de estrategias diseñadas con base en la pedagogía conceptual y la “teoría de las seis lecturas” de Miguel de Zubiría Samper, la población objeto la componen ocho niños de los grados cuarto y quinto de primaria entre los 10 y 11 años de edad, la recolección de la información se realiza mediante la aplicación de entrevista, observación y la elaboración de listas de chequeo; se aplican cinco talleres teniendo presente cinco categorías: lectura fonética, decodificación primaria, decodificación secundaria, decodificación terciaria y lectura categorial.
