An anthropological and sociologicaldoctrine, which gives theoretical and methodological support to research duties, are tackled.Ethnography, the classic method of anthropological research and its main techniques fordata collecting are explained. The process for data treatment, under PRODIN methodologyof qualitative analysis is also shown.Por décadas, el positivismo ha dominado el ambiente académico e investigativo.Este artículo pretende manifestar, compartiendo elementos de una experienciainvestigativa específica (sobre comportamiento del consumidor en este caso), queel relativismo como filosofía de aproximación al estudio de los fenómenos socialeses pertinente e igualmente riguroso. Se abordan las escuelas de pensamientoantropológico y sociológico que dan sustento teórico-metodológico a este trabajoinvestigativo. Se explica la etnografía, método clásico de investigación antropológicay sus principales técnicas como medio de recolección de información.
