Summary: | This document presents the results of a study that evaluated the impact of the processes of musical formation that are being carried out in the public schools of Bogotá within the first phase of the project of the local city hall ‘School day 40 hours’. An interdisciplinary team (music, education and psychology) evaluated an approximate population of 373 students belonging to 29 schools and obtained a diagnosis of the development of students' musical knowledge; the impact of training processes on non-musical dimensions such as self-concept, self-esteem, empathy and motivation; the quality and scope of pedagogical strategies used in classrooms; the perception of the process by students, teachers, parents and school officials; the level of adequacy of the infrastructure and the material resources used. The final product of the project is a battery of tests that will continue to monitor the musical education processes of this program in the short and medium term and its impact on the dimensions addressed. |
