According to some literary critics, the work intends to alert South Korean and Western audiences to the reality of North Koreans and therefore, must be attended by translators in a more attentive manner. The realities serve as indicators that warn readers about the presence of a broader and deeper context. The Critical Discourse Analysis (ACD) methodology is used to develop the relationships between text and context. The concepts of intertextuality and interdiscursivity are used and relationships with other texts are analyzed to achieve the most appropriate translation.El presente trabajo se enfoca en la traducción del coreano al español de los realias es decir, el vocabulario que tiene cero equivalencias en el idioma meta— de Corea del Norte reflejados en Baridegi, novela escrita por el autor surcoreano Hwang Sok-yong. Según algunos críticos literarios, la obra tiene la intención de alertar a las audiencias surcoreanas y occidentales a la realidad de los norcoreanos y por ello, debe ser atendida por los traductores de una manera más atenta. Los realias sirven como indicadores que avisan a los lectores sobre la presencia de un contexto más amplio y más profundo. Se utiliza la metodología del Análisis Crítico del Discurso (ACD) para desarrollar las relaciones entre texto y contexto.
