description This article investigates the practices of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the food, commerce and specialized services sectors of 366 franchise systems operating in Mexico. Research variables were supported in resource-based theory and agency theory. To contrast the hypotheses, the techniques of discriminant analysis and logistic regression have been used as complementary. The results conclude that the discriminatory power of organizational factors on the adoption of CSR practices influences differently in each sector. The variables size, franchise age and royalties showed greater discriminatory power in the adoption of CSR practices in the food sector; the entry fee, franchise age and percentage in the trade sector. Only the variable entry fee showed discriminant power in the specialized services sector.

Solamente la variable cuota de entrada mostró poder discriminante en el sector servicios especializados.text/htmlspaUniversidad EAFIThttp://publicaciones.eafit.edu.co/index.php/administer/article/view/ad-minister.33.2http://publicaciones.eafit.edu.co/index.php/administer/article/view/ad-minister.33.2Copyright © 2018 María Del Carmen Gaytán Ramírez, Cesario Armando Flores VillanuevaAcceso abiertohttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad EAFITreponame:Repositorio Institucional Universidad EAFITAD-minister: No 33 (2018)Determining factors in the adoption of corporate social responsibility practices: a sectoral analysis of mexican franchisesFactores determinantes en la adopción de prácticas de responsabilidad social empresarial: un análisis sectorial en las franquiciaarticleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlepublishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_2df8fbb1Corporate Social ResponsibilityFranchising MexicoResource Based TheoryDiscriminant AnalysisLogistic RegressionResponsabilidad Social EmpresarialFranquicias MéxicoTeoría Basada en RecursosAnálisis DiscriminanteRegresión LogísticaMaría Del Carmen Gaytán RamírezCesario Armando Flores VillanuevaUniversidad Autónoma de Nuevo LeónAD-minister332138ORIGINALDetermining factors in the adoption of corporate social responsibility practices a sectoral analysis of mexican franchises.pdfDetermining factors in the adoption of corporate social responsibility practices a sectoral analysis of mexican franchises.pdfTexto completo PDFapplication/pdf664245https://repository.eafit.edu.co/bitstreams/d95aa7c2-bfcf-47a8-90a7-23289aa30086/download1661571efba25d51ab6810370f6006cfMD51articulo.htmlarticulo.htmlTexto completo HTMLtext/html386https://repository.eafit.edu.co/bitstreams/f3a6ab6c-91fd-4d95-ae6c-bd570fb1965b/download4816c60722a5a7c7700c12b508cdbd0aMD52THUMBNAILminiatura-administer.jpgminiatura-administer.jpgimage/jpeg8755https://repository.eafit.edu.co/bitstreams/6c43933a-312f-41e4-9b59-3ac5cbe9d930/download87c28d32b620f3408b1c70a3c505fbd8MD5310784/13939oai:repository.eafit.edu.co:10784/139392019-12-05 10:34:20.704open.accesshttps://repository.eafit.edu.coRepositorio Institucional Universidad EAFITrepositorio@eafit.edu.co
