For this we propose an ordered logistic model of educational performance, defining as a independent variable a transformation of the rural road densities in relation to the supply of sewage, energy, telephone service, among others, with the aim of capturing the variability and dispersion of rural areas in each municipality. The results show that rural roads influence the probability of increasing educational performance for rural students.El presente artículo tiene el propósito de determinar el impacto del sistema vial del departamento de Antioquia (Colombia), en particular su sistema de vías terciarias, sobre la probabilidad de ascenso en el logro educativo de estudiantes de básica secundaria que viven en zonas rurales del departamento. Para tal efecto, se estima un modelo probit ordenado del rendimiento educativo en la prueba de matemáticas, definiendo, como una de las variables independientes, una transformación de las densidades viales terciarias en relación con la oferta de alcantarillado, energía, servicio de teléfono, entre otros, con el fin de capturar la variabilidad y dispersión de las zonas rurales en cada municipio.
