Description
Summary:"The present study analyzes the effect of the methodology of solving mathematical problems,on the development of critical thinking skills, this research is quantitative, with a quasiexperimental approach. The methodology was applied to 25 students of last year of secondary education of the IED Silvia Cotes de Biswell of the municipality of El Banco in the department of Magdalena and was evaluated by applying a pre-test and a post-test, which consisted of the analysis to a newspaper article, through the guide of the eight questions of Richard Pauld and Linda Elder. It involved concepts from the area of mathematics, in order to know what level of critical thinking the participants had before and after the pedagogical intervention. The results highlight the improvement of critical thinking skills in the participants who were intervened using the RDP methodology, especially the ability to identify the question to which the author wants to respond with his writing. According to the evaluation, students achieved significant improvements in critical thinking skills, evidencing the effectiveness of the strategy."
