Summary: | This article contributes to the construction of the opera-tive notion of the common in architecture, through a re-flection that seeks to valorize the role of the workshop as a learning strategy in architecture. The issue is approa-ched from the historical perspective of the teaching-lear-ning architect, commenting on its stages and evolution since the days of Vitruvius and continuing on through Gropius to the current knowledge society, highlighting how the workshop has been part of architecture throug-hout time, from Europe to Latin America. Finally, the article discusses the reasons why the workshop, despite technological advances that architects can utilize today, will continue being a time and place essential to their practice and their learning. |
