Summary: | This research work is aimed at the analysis and strengthening of child emotional self-regulation as a key process in the holistic development of students from six to eight years. The main objective is to design a proposal for didactic mediation based on the use of WhatsApp application that contributes to the child's emotional self-regulation in the emergence and prevalence context of COVID-19. Therefore, it is generated as an argumentative framework of the subject in its socioemotional, technological, and educational dimensions. Its methodological component bases on a rationalist approach, qualitative-quantitative paradigm, and logical-formal methods; on the other hand, the research design is a documentary, field, and propositional type. Regarding the documentary design, it is used the content analysis technique of the Educational Project and the José Antonio Galán public school cohabitation project, which is the school setting of the research. Concerning the field design, the survey technique is through a structured questionnaire for the identified populations: 160 second-grade elementary school students, 160 parents, and 55 teachers from the institution. Among the main results, it stands out that: first, COVID-19 has generated a greater use of available technologies such as the WhatsApp application, and second, there is a positive relationship between the level of child's emotional self-regulation and the use of WhatsApp from its didactic mediation agent profile. The findings are used as input for the design of the interactive proposal TICaR-WA as a basis for strengthening children's emotional selfregulation in times of emergency and prevalence of COVID-19. It concludes that, for the holistic development of students, it is paramount to contribute to their emotional self-regulation through the use and incorporation of ICTs in the design of attractive proposals. |
