Description
Summary:The present research work aimed to define strategies with the use of asynchronous digital tools for the development of mathematical competences in seventh grade students in the city of Santa Marta. It was worked under a mixed approach; the sample was made up of 30 7th grade students divided among the three existing courses which comprise approximate ages between 11 and 13 years to whom two pretest and posttest instruments were applied in order to compare the state of mathematical competences before and after the application of the asynchronous digital tool (YouTube). The results show that, by applying asynchronous digital tools during the learning process, it motivates students to learn, achieving a high percentage of mathematical skills development. As a conclusion, the efficiency of the strategies implemented through asynchronous digital tools that allow an effective development in the level of mathematics performance is verified, demonstrated in the significant improvement of skills and their positive impact on knowledge acquisition processes.
