Summary:This research has been carried out with the purpose of designing a reading and writing proposal through the Reading Train as a methodological strategy to improve the communication skills of third grade students of the José Agustín Blanco Educational Institution. This study is of great importance, since it provides knowledge about reading, writing, as well as specific teaching proposals that can serve as a reference to other teachers at the levels of initial education to stimulate and / or strengthen the learning of competences reading-writers in students. However, it is common to find in the classrooms, children who have the necessary skills to achieve the performance they will expect from them in the field of literacy. These difficulties affect them in their entirety because of the underestimation they are afraid of not being able to fulfill what they expect of themselves and those that hope for him. That is why it is important that both parents and teachers know the strengths, weaknesses, the way they learn and how they could compensate for their difficulties, in order to propose appropriate management and treatment strategies. In that sense, the general objective of this research is, Design a reading and writing proposal using the Reading Train as a methodological strategy to improve the literacy skills of the students of the third grade of this Institution.
