Description
Summary:"The main goal of the present assignment is to implement the concrete, pictorial and abstract strategy (CPA according to its initials in Spanish) with means of developing mathematical aptitudes for solution of problems, communication and modelling in 3 rd grade students of elementary school in the “Institucion Educativa La Rinconada” of Guamal, Magdalena. To improve the research process, we follow a quantitative methodology under the orientations of an empirical and analytical paradigm, we also use a quasi – experimental design. The population purpose of study, is made up of 57 students of 3 rd grade of “Institucion Educativa La Rinconada” located in the rural area of Guamal, Magdalena from which 17 students from “Petrona Rangel” headquarter were taken for control group and 28 students from “Santa Teresa” headquarter for the experimental group, with a probabilistic sampling. To collect the data, we designed and validated an instrument to measure mathematical aptitudes, which lets us determine the low level of such aptitudes in the students who are participating before developing the math classes with the CPA strategy. Through orientations we develop didactic sequences in the classrooms corresponding to the CPA strategy. Conclusively, a new recollection of data is done to verify the efficiency of the CPA strategy on mathematical aptitudes, according to the results the hypothesis of investigation is accepted confirming that there is a meaningful difference in the improvement of mathematical aptitudes when compared with the results of the control group."
