Summary:The research work aimed to establish the effect of role plays as a didactic mediation for the improvement in school coexistence within the framework of citizen competences in the third grade students of IED LAS NIEVES section 2. For this purpose, it was based on a research rocess from the quantitative approach, the scope was explanatory, with the intention of addressing the situations that are occurring from physical or social phenomena, it was sought to explain the reason, causes and consequences of a situation. It was determined a quasi experimental design with a control group and an experimental one with the application of a pretest and post-test, in which an intervention was carried out from the experimental group and finally a post-test. The focused group was of 52 third grade students, for the experimental group it was taken the population of 26 students in which an intervention process was made through an action plan, in which the strategies applied pointed to the improvement and strengthening of variables established in the investigation
