Description
Summary:This paper proposes a reflection about the discourse of ICT as part of metanarrative of science and technology, offering the promise of strengthening the Colombian education in building a knowledge society. However, the aim of building a knowledge society with the imposition of initiatives created from Western conceptions of progress and development, paradoxically has shown major structural cracks in the configuration of contemporary society, because there are many cases where the initiatives to provide computing devices to schools, collide frontally with the historical precariousness in the bases of the current socio-economic system. Also, are evident problems related to teacher training as a key element in the process of appropriation of ICT in public EI.
