The purpose of this study was to describe the psychological capital of a group of Colombian SME directors and determine if this exercises an effect on their leadership practices. To measure the variables that make up psychological capital, the Life Orientation Test, Revised (LOT-R), the Scale of Generalized Self-Efficacy (Escala de Autoeficacia Generalizada-EAG), the State Hope Scale (SHS) and the Resilience Scale (RS) were applied. Leadership practices were evaluated using the Inventory of Leadership Practices (Inventario de Prácticas de Liderazgo-IPL). According to the results, participants evidenced a high level of psychological capital in which optimism obtained the highest score. Psychological capital, as a global construct, influenced leadership characteristics, but not in the same way for all the practices studied. On the individual level, excluding optimism, the other psychological capital variables influenced the leadership practices, also in a differential manner.application/pdf13159984https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/23242spaUniversidad del Zulia264No. 62247Revista Venezolana de GerenciaVol. 18Revista Venezolana de Gerencia, ISSN:13159984, Vol.18, No.62 (2013); pp. 247-264https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84879707315&partnerID=40&md5=1d580fb25587507c421f142dcda6f4c1Abierto (Texto Completo)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2instname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURConceptual frameworkLeadershipOrganizational frameworkPsychologySmall and medium-sized enterpriseWorking conditionsWorkplaceColombiaHopeLeadershipOptimismPsychological capitalResilienceThe effect of psychological capital on leadership practices in Colombian SMEsEfecto del capital psicológico sobre las prácticas de liderazgo en pymes ColombianasarticleArtículohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501Contreras Torres, Francoise VeneziaJuárez, FernandoORIGINAL29026923007.pdfapplication/pdf167988https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/aa56db2b-e66e-4cbb-81f7-37d4251adb4d/download0d673ac4276cf66a41b064b446d8b89dMD51TEXT29026923007.pdf.txt29026923007.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain53863https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/c0b5aace-238c-452e-934b-47e06fe7580d/download7d273f0428ac016a2cfd47974c1a1c29MD52THUMBNAIL29026923007.pdf.jpg29026923007.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg2369https://repository.urosario.edu.co/bitstreams/43c2356a-7672-4bdb-a0d0-11ace9c7f9d7/downloadf2e7fad45e5fb17dc530d355e6ebb797MD5310336/23242oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/232422022-05-02 07:37:16.682791https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co
