Description
Summary:The article uses a structural and inter-subjective approach to ask what structural and organizational factors favour practices of harassment at work in Colombia. The initial hypothesis of the study is that there are structural conditions (economic crisis, business reconstruction, flexibility in the labour market etc.) and organizational structures in business which encourage practices of harassment at work or which do not favour its control. Supported by the theory of Bourdieu, the authors question the concept of harassment at work container in Law 1010/2006 and draw up three types of harassment at work which illustrate different dimensions of the problem. They used qualitative techniques such as interviews and discussion groups, and analyzed court decisions and complaints of harassment at work received by the labour courts and the Ministry of Social Protection.
