PreLingua gathers a set of activities that use speech processing techniques and an adapted interface to train patients who present speech development delays or special voice needs in the environment of special education. Its visual interface is especially designed for children with cognitive disabilities and maps relevant voice parameters like intensity, vocal onset, durations of sounds, fundamental frequency, and formant frequencies to visually attractive graphics. Reports of successful results of the use of PreLingua have been gathered in several countries by audiologists, speech therapists, and other professionals in the fields of voice therapy, and also, in other fields such as early stimulation, mutism, and attention-deficit disorders. This chapter brings together the experiences of these professionals on the use of the tool and how the use of an interface paradigm that maps acoustic features directly to visual elements in a screen can provide improvements in voice disorders in patients with cognitive and speech delays.application/pdfhttps://doi.org/10.4018/978-1-4666-4422-9.ch025ISBN: 9781466644229EISBN: 9781466644236https://repository.urosario.edu.co/handle/10336/28516engIGI Global Publishing523508Assistive Technologies: Concepts, Methodologies, Tools, and ApplicationsAssistive Technologies: Concepts, Methodologies, Tools, and Applications, ISBN: 9781466644229;EISBN: 9781466644236, Chapter 25 (2014); pp. 508-523https://www.igi-global.com/gateway/chapter/80628Restringido (Acceso a grupos específicos)http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_16ecAssistive Technologies: Concepts, Methodologies, Tools, and Applicationsinstname:Universidad del Rosarioreponame:Repositorio Institucional EdocURVoice therapyAttention-deficit disordersPreLinguaExperiences using a free tool for voice therapy based on speech technologiesExperiencias utilizando una herramienta gratuita para terapia de voz basada en tecnologías del hablabookPartParte de librohttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_3248Rodríguez-Dueñas, William R.Saz, OscarLleida, Eduardo10336/28516oai:repository.urosario.edu.co:10336/285162021-10-15 06:11:19.801https://repository.urosario.edu.coRepositorio institucional EdocURedocur@urosario.edu.co |
